the stolen white elephant was produced in Glasgow and Edinburgh spring of 2008. It was completed June 2009. The short film is adapted from the short story of the same name by Mark Twain and was filmed inside C.R. Mackintosh's Scotland Street School, now a museum.
The story follows a poor somebody - ODDFELLOW - who is charged with the improbable task of delivering a white elephant on behalf of the King of Siam to the Queen of England. En route, the elephant is lost, and it is up to one proud and useless detective - BLUNT - to find this elephant. A series of improbable and contradictory accounts of detective stories ensues via a strange telephonic magic machine that seems to be made of cardboard. Blunt will get the bottom of the case even if it costs Oddfellow every last cent and all credibility in his abilities as delivery man.
